DIY Part 3: Hello and Goodbye

For the final leg of the journey, it’s time to wrap it all up. You’ve put a lot of time, effort, and finances into planning your wedding, and even though the big day has finally arrived, the DIY portion of the wedding process isn’t quite over. Wedding programs can easily slip through the cracks, but before you think about scraping this aspect all together, consider keeping it in, but at a fraction of the normal cost.

Much like the announcements and invitations, wedding programs are offered by multiple printing companies. If you want to go the economical route, you have two options:

1.    Buy whatever color and type of paper you like at an office supply store, and then print off wedding programs at home, cutting and decorating them however you like. Get crazy with stencils or glitter and give your programs a homey feel.

2.    Use regular printer paper, and then find a free template online that lets you pick theme, color, and design, crafting your own wedding program that look and feel professionally done.

Either DIY route you choose, the outcome is the same: Original wedding programs for a fraction of the cost.

This at-home, DIY approach also applies long after the wedding is over. Creating and printing personalized thank-you cards is a great way to acknowledge all your guests and the wonderful gifts they have given you. You’ve started your new life as a married couple, and taking the time and effort to thank all those that helped make it happen is a wonderful way to show your appreciation for all the love and support you’ve been given.
