The days are getting hotter. The pools and beaches are getting fuller. Flowers are blooming. And we are in the midst of another wedding season; which, by the way, is always one of my favorite times of the year. I’ve noticed a trend recently that is really coming as quite a surprise to me. Lots of brides are combining succulents with real flowers for their bouquets, centerpieces, cakes, wedding favors, and in a multitude of other creative ways.
I remember back a few years ago, I had a bride tell me she was planning to have her bouquet be a mixture of succulents and fresh flowers, and I started thinking to myself, “How the hell is she going to combine a cactus with her bouquet?” LOL! Now, I know. But then I also started to discover all the different varieties of succulents, shapes and textures, and the colorful summer blooms.
Looking for an eco-friendly concept and something else you can do with your bouquet when all the real flowers start to die? This is a for sure way to go. You can even take away your fresh flowers and bury the succulents out in the backyard as another keepsake from your special day.
